Job Title: Fire Alarm Service / Reactive Engineer

Salary: £36,000 - £46,000 (dependent on experience)

Earnings Potential: Up to £50,000 + company vehicle

Location: South East / North East London & Essex

Position Overview:An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fire Alarm Service/Reactive Engineer to join a rapidly growing company in the fire detection and security systems industry. This is a fantastic chance to work within a supportive and flexible team environment, covering commercial properties in North London and the north M25 area.

Job Purpose:

We are looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of experience in fire detection to service equipment and perform reactive work. The ideal candidate will have experience not only in fire alarm servicing but also with security, access control, and CCTV systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service and troubleshoot fire detection equipment, including conventional, addressable, and wireless systems.
  • Manage reactive work on fire alarm systems in various commercial settings.
  • Utilize knowledge of major brands of panels, including Gent and Vesda, along with app-based systems.
  • Conduct maintenance of emergency lighting and work with dual-com monitoring systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all NSI codes of practice and current industry standards (e.g., EN50131, PD6662, DD243, BS4737, BS8243).

About You:

  • Experience as a Service Engineer in Fire or Fire and Security is essential.
  • Strong communication skills, enthusiasm, self-motivation, and excellent time-management abilities.
  • A willingness to work at heights and perform physically demanding tasks is necessary.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience with fire detection systems and security technologies.
  • Knowledge of access control systems, door entry systems, and CCTV (both IP & analogue) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with various communication devices and related industry standards.
