Job Title 

Lead Legionella Risk Assessor - based in one of the following areas Luton, Stevenage, Hatfield, St Albans, Enfield, Watford, Harrow, Wembley, Windsor, Bracknell or Reading - Salary £30,000 - £38,000 DOE 

Our client, a well-established leader in the compliance industry for over 40 years, is looking to appoint a Senior Compliance Risk Assessor. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated and knowledgeable team. Specialising in duct cleaning and Legionella control, our client delivers a comprehensive range of services and training in water, ventilation, and grease hygiene, including TR19 Grease Compliance Cleaning and L8 Compliance, to public sector bodies, utility companies, and various industrial, commercial, and retail clients. With ambitious growth plans, they seek motivated individuals eager to learn and contribute to their expert team. 

Responsibilities 

  • Act as a surveyor of air and water quality on behalf of the company, performing various assessments, including Legionella and Ventilation (BS EN 15780) risk assessments, in line with the Approved Code of Practice L8 & HSG274 at clients' premises across the UK. 

     

  • Establish statutory compliance and benchmark systems against industry-recognised standards. 

     

  • Liaise with customers or their representatives to agree on appropriate action plans if their site does not meet L8 standards. 

     

Key Performance Indicators 

  • Complete all service reports in full and submit them to the office by the end of each working shift. 

     

  • Report any compliance issues on site, along with recommendations. 

     

  • Conduct one competency audit per month. 

     

  • Identify and process at least two upselling or cross-selling opportunities each month. 

     

  • Maintain 'Elite Driver' status on Lightfoot at all times. 

     

Job Specific Functions 

  • Liaise with clients to arrange site visits and discuss work details. 

     

  • Organise and ensure the functionality and calibration of all necessary equipment for the tasks at hand. 

     

  • Work with the Stores/Workshop Manager to ensure all general and specialised equipment is maintained in good working order. Report any equipment deficiencies or damage caused by negligence to the Head of Surveying for investigation. 

     

  • Conduct Legionella Risk Assessments, Temperature Monitoring, Service Inspections, and various other water-related services as required, such as Tank Cleaning, TMV Servicing, and Closed Loop testing. 

     

  • Carry out Ventilation Surveys in accordance with BS EN 15780 / TR19. 

     

  • Use the Visio system to produce schematic drawings (training provided if necessary). 

     

  • Arrange travel to and from clients' sites, with the possibility of overnight stays when required. 

     

  • Conduct site surveys for air and water quality in associated buildings according to company method statements and procedures. 

     

  • Deliver Legionella Awareness Training to groups of clients. 

     

  • Provide Written Scheme production services to clients. 

     

  • Liaise with clients or site personnel regarding work progress and issues. 

     

  • Assist the management team in the delivery of new technical services. 

     

  • Provide senior guidance and technical support to other members of the Surveying team. 

     

  • Support the sales team by identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling services. 

     

  • Communicate any on-site progress issues or problems to the office immediately. 

     

  • Maintain daily communication with the office/coordinator to provide updates on job progress. 

     

  • Record all information fully using the Digital Compliance System. 

     

  • Write up reports using the company format, enter site data, and form conclusions and recommendations. 

     

  • Represent the company and promote a professional image in the marketplace. 

     

  • Set a professional example and ensure that customers and staff are treated courteously. 

     

  • Ensure adherence to company procedures. 

     

  • Liaise with the sales team regarding significant site issues and any remedial work required. 

     

  • Support other members of the Surveying team where possible, including providing on-site training when necessary. 

     

  • Conduct competency audit assessments on the Surveying Team for services such as Legionella Risk Assessments, Planned Preventative Maintenance Tasks, Clean and Disinfection, and Legionella Awareness Training. 

     

  • Act in accordance with the Company Code of Conduct when engaged in company duties, in any capacity and at any location. 

     

  • Ensure that jobs are completed within the allotted budget despite not being the budget holder. 

     

  • Liaise with the office to plan jobs for better productivity.

  • Survey kit (including a torch, temperature probe, infrared gauge, tape measure, tools, ladder, etc.) 

     

  • PPE (including steel toe-capped footwear, high visibility vest, hard hat, dust/Legionella mask, and protective overalls) 

     

  • On-the-job training as required 

     

  • Health and Safety training as required
