Your new companyOur client are a large property development and investment company that operate across the UK. They are hiring a Technical Maintenance Engineer to join their specialist technical systems department, to focus on fire & security system compliance and maintenance for their commercial property portfolio in London.Your new roleAs Technical Maintenance Engineer (Fire & Security) you will support the specialist technical systems department to ensure that their properties are managed in accordance with regulatory requirements, current standards and industry best practice, with regard to fire and security systems. Key duties will include:
- Audit Fire Alarm Safety Manual Logbooks across commercial and retail assets.
- Provide technical assistance to the Head of Technical Systems and Managers in daily operations.
- Ensure correct operation of Fire Alarms, Electronic Life Safety Systems, and occasionally Electronic Security Systems and System Networks.
- Advise on new property developments regarding system type, equipment manufacturers, design, and inspection upon completion.
- Audit Fire Safety manuals and logbooks, documenting records and defects.
- Prepare and amend maintenance specifications for specialist sub-contractor contracts.
- Review system design and propose necessary amendments based on occupier requirements.
- Assist in minor and major works alterations to System Networks, Electronic Security Systems, and Fire Alarm Systems.
- Audit maintenance contractors and sub-contractors as required.
- Support Technical Services Managers with fit-out procedures for Fire Alarms and Security System interfacing.
What you'll need to succeedTo succeed in this role you will require relevant experience in a fire alarm / security system maintenance engineering role, and some knowledge of fire alarm / security systems and their maintenance. You will also require:
- Knowledge and experience of fire alarm system, voice alarm system, and emergency communications system maintenance and installation.
- Security system knowledge and experience is desirable but not essential.
- Key systems knowledge - Fire Alarm - Advanced Electronics System / Voice Alarm - Baldwin Boxall System / Emergency Communications - Baldwin Boxall System.
- Relevant qualifications desirable but not essential.
What you'll get in returnWhen successful in securing this role you will receive a permanent contract with a large and highly successful property development and investment firm. You will also receive:
- £40,000 - £47,000 starting salary (depending on experience and skillet).
- 25 days leave + bank holidays + Christmas closure.
