Job Title: Safety Engineer

Duration : 3 Months (2-3 days per week)

Location: Fully Remote

Day Rate: £300 Outside IR35

Avanti Recruitment are seeking an experienced test engineer in the aerospace sector to work on the Development of a novel electric-hybrid propulsion system. Support will be required for the development through safety assessments, looking at the system architecture, design, and operation through driving and managing safety requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in safety-related systems development.
  • Experience with ARP4754 and ARP4761, or similar industry standards.
  • Experience of functional hazard analysis, fault tree analysis, and safety requirement management.
  • Working knowledge of aircraft performance, control, and operations.
  • Working knowledge of safety critical systems, electronic hardware, and software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Passion for electrification of the aviation industry

Desirable Experience :

Special consideration will be given to experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Turbomachines integration, especially turboprops
  • Electric motor and inverter systems, especially MW class
  • High voltage DC power systems (800V)
  • Fuel systems
  • Safety-critical control systems
  • Pilot interfaces
