Full Job Description:
As a Senior Health and Safety Consultant, you will report to the Associate Director – Head of Health and Safety and provide top-tier advice and guidance to clients across sectors including education, healthcare, construction, retail, and aviation. Your expertise in health and safety, along with your understanding of CDM Regulations and fire safety, will enable you to offer comprehensive, practical solutions that support client needs and compliance.
Responsibilities & Activities:
- Provide professional health and safety advice to clients across Estates, FM, Retail, Education, Health, and Construction industries.
- Conduct health and safety audits, site inspections, and risk assessments.
- Develop Health and Safety Documents, review safety documentation, and assist clients in managing accident and incident investigations.
- Advise clients on compliance with CDM Regulations 2015, including duties related to Principal Designer/PD Advisor/CDMA roles.
- Participate in design team discussions, identifying and recording significant hazards and advising on risk management.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality professional reports and documentation for clients.
- Contribute to business development and client account management to build strong client relationships.
- Manage your diary effectively to meet deadlines and support multiple clients as needed.
- Collaborate with clients and colleagues, contributing to meetings and ensuring a client-focused approach.
Requirements:
- Minimum NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent NVQ (NEBOSH Construction Certificate and Fire Manager Advanced Certificate preferred).
- Proven experience in consultancy, ideally with experience in Estates, FM, and corporate health and safety.
- Strong understanding of construction and built environments, with experience in SHE Audits.
- Good knowledge of CDM Regulations and experience with Principal Designer/PD Advisor/CDMA roles.
- Professional membership in IOSH (Tech IOSH minimum; Chartered preferred).
- Ability to deliver IOSH training (desirable) and experience conducting fire risk assessments (preferred).
- Excellent report-writing skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Effective time management and diary management skills, with flexibility to travel across the UK.
- Strong interpersonal skills and client-facing experience with a focus on client satisfaction.
- A full UK driving license.
