NMS are seeking an experienced SHE Advisor to join a thriving telecoms business in London. You must have experience within the fibre industry to be considered for this fantastic opportunity. As SHE Advisor you will be responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of a safety-first culture across the company. The business is fast paced and certified to ISO 9001, 14001, 22301 and 27001 standards.Responsibilities• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies, procedures, and management systems as required.• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with legislation as well as company standards.• Conduct comprehensive health and safety inductions for all new starters, ensuring full awareness of site-specific protocols and procedures.• Review Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) and associated documentation for contractor onboarding ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.• Plan, manage, and schedule weekly training sessions for engineers, maintaining up-to-date training records and competency matrices.• Carry out regular office inspections to identify and address any health, safety, and welfare issues, and ensure a safe working environment.• Conduct and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to ensure all tasks are carried out safely• Order and manage Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all engineers, ensuring availability, proper distribution, and compliance with usage standards.• Provide training and guidance to employees on health and safety guidance and legislation, including proper equipment usage, emergency procedures, and best practices for accident prevention.• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.• Keep abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies related to health and safety, and where possible, incorporate best practices into company policies and procedures.• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to health and safety activities, including incident reports, training records, and compliance documentation.• Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of health and safety programs and processes.• Assist with report writing and data analysis.• Assist in maintaining CDM documents Qualifications & TrainingEssential:• Graduate member of IOSH.• NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate in Health & SafetyDesirable:• Hold a recognised Level 5 Health and Safety Qualification. e.g. NEBOSH, NVQExperience • 2 + years proven experience in health and safety management in the fibre telecommunications industry.• In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations and standards and their application in the fibre sector.• Experience of maintaining an ISO accredited management system.• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify risks, analyse data, and develop effective solutions.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization and influence behaviour change through relationship building and collaboration.• Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to inspire and motivate.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.Benefits• Up to £40,000 DOE• Car allowance• Hybrid working• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays• Birthday & work anniversary off• Death in service• Additional benefits Important Information: We endeavour to process your personal data in a fair and transparent manner.
