Please note that this role requires travel to 50+ sites across the UK for three days per week with the remaining two days working from home. (all travel costs are covered by the client).

The successful candidate will have the following experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Health and Safety management
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in health and safety management in a multi-site office environment
  • Firm understanding of ISO9001, 14001 and 45001 Standards, and the required processes to maintain compliance
  • Technical knowledge/understanding of motor vehicles and maintenance requirements
  • Knowledge of road traffic law, and corporate responsibility in relation to road safety matters
  • Well-versed in the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974
  • Ensure adequate Health and Safety Policies and Procedures are implemented, adhered to, monitored and managed
  • Lead & support the investigation of accidents and incidents, making recommendations to prevent re-occurrence
  • Manage third party Health and Safety advisors ensuring a robust, proactive service is provided and audits are undertaken at least annually at all sites with detailed findings and recommendations documented
  • Manage the Fire Risk register in line with fire safety regulations, ensuring strict compliance for all UK properties, assets and contracts
  • Manage the third-party Health & Safety reporting platform ensuring all actions are completed and closed out in a timely manner
  • Responsible for the management, compliance, internal & external audit and re-certification of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certifications
  • Provide support and manage the process for all other ISO audit and certifications the UK business holds (currently 27001 and 22301)
  • Authorise, order and maintain new equipment as necessary in line with Company purchasing policy
  • Implement and review all risk assessments
  • Conduct regular site visits, inspections, and audits
  • Manage the vehicle fleet, sourcing new and used vehicles in line with Company Policy and Procedures
  • Ensure that adequate fleet management and driving related Policies and Procedures are implemented, adhered to, monitored and managed
  • Monitor Private vehicles used on Company business (Grey Fleet) to ensure safety and legal compliance
  • Ensure all records for company and private vehicles (that are used for business purposes), and drivers of these vehicles are kept up to date and reviewed annually
  • Ensure all company vehicles are serviced and maintained in accordance with manufacturers recommendations and that MOT tests are carried out in accordance with the UK road traffic regulations.
