A leading social housing provider is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to lead their Health & Safety operations across various directorates nationally. This role is crucial for ensuring the safe delivery of services and activities, focusing on developing, implementing, and maintaining Safety Management Systems.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Develop and implement a Plan/Do/Check/Act approach to Health and Safety management.
  • Lead and manage a team of Health & Safety Business Partners and Administrators to embed these principles into the business.
  • Drive the development of the Health and Safety Strategy and Management Systems.
  • Create and enforce policies to establish a culture of Health and Safety.
  • Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
  • Build strong relationships at senior management levels to support positive progression in Health and Safety practices.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of Health and Safety training programs.
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention strategies.
  • Establish and maintain Health and Safety monitoring programs and schedules.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven leadership skills with previous experience as a Health & Safety Manager.
  • NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Health and Safety management.
  • Membership in a Health and Safety governing body such as the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health is ideal.
  • Strong ability to present complex legal and management information effectively across all levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build good relations.
  • Extensive experience in building management systems in line with ISO standards/HSG65.
  • Experience managing a team in dispersed geographical locations.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to travel extensively between operational areas and offices.
