Do you live and breathe all things health and safety? We’re currently seeking a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to join our fantastic team at our Forestgate site; supporting our manufacturing and logistics operations teams.

Reporting into the Site Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with and influence our teams, providing expert health and safety guidance and support. Key responsibilities

As Health Safety and Environmental Manager, you’ll be passionate about our people and enjoy building strong relationships with all our colleagues and their representatives, bringing a positive, encouraging and people-centric approach to your work. Cross functional collaboration will come naturally to you; you’ll work alongside your peers in the Senior Leadership Team to align and execute our Health and Safety strategy, championing change and the development of our teams.

You’ll be given the autonomy to drive the Health and Safety agenda; you’re encouraged to lead and develop all safety production activities, aiming for optimisation of assets.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Compliance with company and legislative Health and Safety requirements.
  • Ownership of risk assessments and overall quality of safety output.
  • Coordination of Health, Safety and Environmental activities for Forestgate, ensuring all targets are achieved in line with expectation.
  • Provide an unbiased and transparent auditing function for site/company.
  • Lead, develop and implement sustainable HS&E management programmes and provide the strategic architecture for HS&E that will ensure statutory accreditations are retained.
  • Line management of our SHE Advisor

Do you have?

  • IOSH and/or NEBOSH qualifications.
  • Experience of accident prevention programme implementation.
  • The ability to design and implement effective Health and Safety training ensuring impactful deployment in line with company Health and Safety strategy.
  • Experience of Health and Safety change management
  • Experience of working with Duty Holder Register; specifically DSEAR/PUWER
  • Experience of ISO14001 or ISO18001
  • Experience of working within a unionised environment (desirable)
  • IEMA certification (desirable)
