What you'll do:

As a Health and Safety Manager, your role will be pivotal in promoting an understanding that effective management of health and safety is integral to efficient business and operational management. You will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring safety-related systems while also ensuring that inspections are satisfactorily completed. Your expertise will be crucial in advising management on health & safety legislation, safe methods of working, prevention of hazards to health, protective equipment and control measures.

  • Promote health and safety awareness across the site
  • Coordinate and monitor safety related processes including risk assessment, training, accident investigation, workplace safety audits
  • Complete audits and share best practice regarding all health and safety matters
  • Work closely with facilities to ensure contractors work safely on site
  • Advise management on health & safety legislation, safe methods of working, prevention of hazards to health and the suitability of plant, protective equipment and control measures
  • Maintain the Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) plan and support delivery of all associated actions

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Health and Safety Manager position will bring a wealth of experience from a similar role within a fast paced logistics environment. You will have demonstrable experience in assisting with an effective implementation of a H&S management system. Your strong interpersonal, management and communication skills will enable you to effectively promote health and safety awareness across the site. Your organised nature coupled with your attention to detail will ensure that all tasks are carried out efficiently.

  • Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role within a logistics environment / FMCG / Chilled or perishable goods
  • Experienced in assisting with an effective implementation of a H&S management system
  • Effective interpersonal, management and communication skills
  • Organised and detail oriented
  • Good IT and data analysis skills
