Duration: Two Year Fixed Term Contract

Salary - up to £50k per annum

My client is looking for an experienced Health and Safety Project Manager to join their team, initially on a 2-year FTC to support them with developing, implementing and overseeing health and safety programmes and protocols to ensure that the organisation is delivering safe, efficient and compliant housing across their housing stock.

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring fully complaint, safe and quality housing
  • Ensuring that all health and safety and compliance inspections are carried out, including but not limited to fire, electrical, asbestos and legionella.
  • Undertake audits, risk assessment and safety inspections of sites, identifying any risks, poor practice and/or substandard environments in relation to health and safety.
  • Ensure that health and safety policies, systems and frameworks are adhered to and fit for purpose. When necessary, developing and executing health and safety plans according to legislation and guidance.
  • Delivery health and safety improvement programmes including identifying and delivering service area improvement actions across all areas of compliance.
  • Ensure that compliance certification and documentation is received, verified, referenced and retained against agreed processes and legislative requirements.
  • Prepare a stock improvement programmes and provide asset evaluation and grading data, risk analysis and financial, investment and asset management information.
  • Lead on Energy Efficiency for the organisation. Deliver a fuel efficiency improvement programme, ensuring that the most appropriate and effective materials and technologies are retrofitted within existing homes, including the upgrading of Energy Performance Certificates as expected by upcoming legislation.
  • Liaise with employees, contractors and tenants on health and safety matters as required.
  • Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer to ensure that the organisations’ Health and Safety Strategy is implemented successfully.
  • To work flexibly and from varying sites across a geographical footprint within an agreed number of hours to maintain service provision.
  • Ensure compliance with any necessary legislation and regulation.
  • Take personal responsibility for own Health, Safety and Welfare and that of colleagues in the workplace.
  • To ensure that all company policies and procedures are followed and adhered too.

Skills and experience required:

  • Extensive knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of current health and safety requirements in a housing environment.
  • Full UK driving license
  • Previous project management experience
