As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and empowering students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN in various subjects.
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to implement EHCP's and tailor lessons to meet specific learning needs.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and respected.
- Assist students with daily tasks and personal care when required.
- Implement behavior management strategies to support positive student behavior.
- Offer emotional and pastoral support, helping students build confidence and self-esteem.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- Utilize assistive technology and adaptive resources to enhance the learning experience for students with SEN.
Requirements:
- A genuine passion for supporting students with SEN and a commitment to their academic and personal growth.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
- Previous experience working with individuals with SEN is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Empathy, patience, and a nurturing approach to working with students.
- Willingness to undergo relevant training and development in SEN.
- Basic knowledge of educational technology and resources for SEN support.
