The Courthouse Hotel Shoreditch is a 5-star property that combines the grandeur of a Grade2 listed Baroque style building with laid-back personalized service, forming the perfect alchemy. We are in the center of Shoreditch, famed for its buzzing nightlife and eccentric charm. Our facilities consist of 128 guest rooms and suites, a unique restaurant concept, 3 bars including a roof top bar, 11 event spaces, a 196-seat screening room, 2 lane bowling alley, luxurious spa, swimming pool and fitness center.

General Manager

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Hotel General Manager to oversee all aspects of our hotels operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of service, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the hotel team , including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.

Guest Experience: Ensure exceptional guest service and address any guest concerns or complaints promptly and effectively.

Financial Management: Oversee the hotels financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

Operations: Manage daily operations, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage services.

Sales and Marketing: Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to maximize revenue and occupancy rates. Staying up-to date with financial results (budget vs actual) in sales and cost areas and ensure that sales and profit are maximized.

Compliance: Ensuring the hotel is fully compliant in all aspects of legislation including H&S, food safety, hygiene and any other relevant legislative obligations ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the hotel, guests and colleagues.

Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance the hotels market position and profitability.

Vendor Management: Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and suppliers.

Community Engagement: Represent the hotel in the local community and build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Fully understand the market needs and desires for each operation and ensure that the relevant products are developed by the management team.

Training being carried out on a regular basis paying particular attention to statutory requirements.

Closely monitor guest feedback, communicate feedback results and make recommendations for improvement.

To demonstrate a good hands-on, considerable experience of managing F&B and conference and banqueting is desirable.

Essential skills:

Proven experience as a Hotel General Manager or in a similar role. At least 5 years experience in a 4/5 -star hotel.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Financial acumen and experience with budgeting and financial management.

Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Be able to adapt quickly to changing business needs.

A solution-based approach to managing the teams.

Clear understanding of the diverse requirements of central London hotel clientele with the ability to manage their expectations.

Demonstrable achievements in improving customer satisfaction and profitability.

Working with a culturally diverse workforce.
