We are seeking a passionate and experienced General Manager to take the helm of our vibrant independent pub in South West London. With a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service, managing day-to-day operations, and fostering a warm, welcoming atmosphere, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our venue.
As a General Manager, youll lead a dynamic team, maintain high standards of food and drink service, and drive innovative initiatives to grow our business while retaining our core values.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Management- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the pub, ensuring smooth service and operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, health and safety, and food hygiene regulations.
- Maintain and enhance operational efficiency, identifying areas for improvement.
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a positive and inclusive working environment.
- Schedule and manage staff rotas to ensure efficient coverage during peak hours.
- Lead by example, motivating the team to deliver excellent customer experiences consistently.
- Ensure outstanding customer service is provided at all times, building strong relationships with patrons.
- Handle customer complaints and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
- Develop and implement initiatives to attract new customers while retaining regular clientele.
- Manage budgets, track performance metrics, and report on financial outcomes to stakeholders.
- Oversee stock management, including ordering, receiving, and controlling inventory levels.
- Identify opportunities to maximize revenue through innovative promotions and events.
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to enhance the pubs visibility and reputation in the local community.
- Plan and oversee events, including live music, quiz nights, or seasonal promotions.
- Build strong relationships with local suppliers and businesses to create collaborative opportunities.
- Proven experience as a General Manager or similar leadership role in the hospitality industry.
- Strong understanding of pub operations, including food and beverage management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A hands-on approach with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, analyze financial data, and achieve business targets.
- Familiarity with licensing laws, food hygiene standards, and health and safety regulations.
- Knowledge of the South West London area and its clientele is an advantage.
