We’re looking for an experienced support assistant to join a Kensington & Chelsea Primary School, delivering tailored intervention sessions that inspire and support young learners with Special Educational Needs.

1:1 SEND Support Assistant Responsibilities:
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Primary-aged student with SEND, implementing personalised learning strategies to aid in their academic and social development.
  • Plan and deliver engaging intervention sessions to address individual needs, focusing on areas such as literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
  • Collaborate with class teachers and the SENCO to ensure each session is tailored to the student’s EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan) goals.
  • Track and monitor progress, offering feedback to staff and families to adjust intervention approaches as needed.
  • Create a positive, nurturing learning environment, encouraging confidence, independence, and growth.
1:1 SEND Support Assistant Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a 1:1 SEND Support Assistant or similar role, ideally within a Primary school setting.
  • A solid understanding of SEND and experience with implementing targeted interventions.
  • Strong communication skills, patience, and empathy for working with children with diverse needs.
  • Organisational skills and a proactive approach to meeting student goals.
