We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to work one-on-one with a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a mainstream secondary school in Redbridge, starting in January. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey at the secondary school level.
As a 1-1 Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to the child, helping them develop essential social, communication, and academic skills in the mainstream classroom environment. You will work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to implement individualized strategies and ensure the child’s full participation in class activities. The role also involves supporting the child during break times and other school activities to promote their independence and well-being.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children with ASD or other special educational needs (SEN) in a mainstream school setting, particularly in a secondary school environment. You should be patient, empathetic, and able to adapt your approach to meet the child's unique needs. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will work closely with the child’s family, teachers, and other staff.
Based in Redbridge, you will have great transport links to East London and beyond.
