Art Teacher (SEMH)

Our client school is a well-established special school catering to pupils aged 5 to 16 years with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties as their primary area of need. Located within the London Borough of Redbridge, the school welcomes pupils from a range of neighbouring boroughs, including Barking & Dagenham, Essex, Enfield, Havering, Newham, Tower Hamlets, and Waltham Forest. With a dedicated team of over 65 staff supporting 80 pupils, the school provides a personalised, inclusive, and inspiring education alongside comprehensive pastoral care.

Our client school is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Art Teacher to engage and inspire students in a SEMH setting. The successful candidate will have a passion for art, experience in adapting curriculum to meet diverse learning needs, and the ability to nurture students' self-expression through creative outlets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and accessible art lessons tailored to students' individual needs.

  • Provide structured opportunities for students to develop technical skills in various art mediums.

  • Support students in exploring art as a form of self-expression and emotional regulation.

  • Differentiate lessons to cater to a wide range of abilities and learning styles.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate art into cross-curricular activities.

  • Promote a positive and therapeutic learning environment to enhance student well-being.
