About the Role - Behaviour Teaching assistant - Lewisham

  • Support students with challenging behaviour and SEN in the classroom.
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to keep students engaged in their studies.
  • Use your behaviour management skills to help de-escalate situations and promote positive behaviours.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to deliver tailored support.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students to ensure they feel supported and encouraged.
  • Assist students with academic tasks and ensure they are progressing in their learning.

Ideal Behaviour Teaching Assistant

  • Experience working with young people with challenging behaviour or SEN.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate situations effectively.
  • Passionate, proactive, and hardworking.
  • Ability to think on your feet and handle challenging situations calmly.
  • DBS check (or willing to apply for one).
  • Previous experience working in a school or a similar setting is required.
  • Team Teach certification is desirable (but not essential).
  • Able to commute to Lewisham.
