Join our School of Computing and IT as a full-time Lecturer, specialising in Security. This role offers an excellent opportunity to impart your knowledge and skills to learners aiming to progress in the computing industry, including IT careers, apprenticeships, and higher education.
Day-to-day of the role:- Deliver a range of Computing courses, focusing on Security, from BTEC Level 2 to Level 5.
- Utilise and impart knowledge of Virtual Box (or equivalent) and Operating Systems Configuration (Windows and Linux).
- Engage and motivate young learners aged 16-19 through effective teaching practices.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance course content and delivery methods.
- Participate in the continuous assessment and feedback process to monitor student progress.
- Contribute to the development of new courses and educational materials.
- Degree in a Computing subject.
- Experience in teaching, preferably including delivery of BTEC programmes.
- Knowledge and experience in IT Security or IT Systems Support.
- Proficient in using Virtual Box or similar tools, and in configuring Operating Systems like Windows and Linux.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with young learners.
- If not already held, willingness to achieve a Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (support provided by the College).
- Teacher training provided to achieve a Level 5 teaching qualification if not already obtained.
