This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator or someone with a passion for teaching English to inspire and support students in developing their language, literacy, and communication skills. As an English Lecturer, you will deliver high-quality lessons and support to help students succeed academically and build confidence in their English abilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Lesson Planning & Delivery: Design, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective English lessons, covering a range of topics including literature, writing, reading, and language skills.
- Assessment & Feedback: Create and administer assessments to monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to help students improve.
- Student Support: Offer additional support to students who need help with their coursework or have specific learning needs, ensuring they receive the guidance they need to succeed.
- Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of the English curriculum, ensuring that it is current, relevant, and motivating for students.
- Classroom Management: Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes active learning, student participation, and academic growth.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess student progress and implement strategies for additional support, ensuring that all students are on track to meet their academic goals.
- A degree in English, English Literature, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- A relevant teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- Proven experience teaching English at the Further Education level or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of the English curriculum, assessment methods, and current trends in English education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Experience teaching English to students of various levels and abilities.
- Ability to use innovative teaching methods and technology to enhance student learning.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- A student-centred approach with a focus on developing students' confidence and skills in English.
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
