Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess student work in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Support students in developing their literacy skills and confidence in English.
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Foster a structured and professional learning environment.Qualifications:
  • A degree in English, Literature, Linguistics, or a related field.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, DET, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Level 2 qualification in English and Maths or a willingness to achieve this within a specified period.Experience:
  • Proven experience teaching English at further education or college level.
  • Experience working with students aged 16+ and adult learners.
  • A strong understanding of curriculum delivery and assessment.
  • Administrative experience related to teaching and learning.Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge:
  • Strong subject knowledge with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to develop positive professional relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Familiarity with Information Learning Technology applications for teaching.
  • Commitment to student success and progression.Other Requirements:
  • Understanding of and commitment to safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults.
