Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support educators at a school in Camden in providing a nurturing and effective learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly those with autism or special educational needs. Duties

  • Assist teachers in delivering educational programmes and activities tailored to individual student needs.
  • Support students with autism and other special educational requirements, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance and encouragement.
  • Communicate effectively with students, helping them to understand instructions and engage with learning materials.
  • Provide tutoring and mentoring to students, reinforcing lessons taught in class and aiding in their academic progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop lesson plans and adapt resources for diverse learners.
  • Maintain a positive classroom environment, promoting respect, cooperation, and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Monitor student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to educators on individual achievements and areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with autism or within special education settings is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, teachers, and parents.
  • A passion for educating young people and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative when required.
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability to meet the varying needs of students throughout the school day.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or child development would be advantageous but are not essential.
