About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in a 1-form entry mainstream primary school in Islington. This full-time, term-time-only role begins in January and offers a chance to help children thrive during their foundational years of education.

You will:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to children, fostering their learning and development.
  • Support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), which may include:
    • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
    • Speech and Language Difficulties
    • Sensory Processing Needs
    • Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Needs (SEMH)
    • Developmental delays and other early learning challenges.
  • Promote a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Help monitor and record pupil progress, working collaboratively with teachers and parents.


Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Experience working in UK schools, ideally in EYFS settings.
  • A passion for early childhood education and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A caring, patient, and proactive approach to supporting young learners.
