We are currently looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic General Teaching Assistant to work alongside a teacher and support students in their learning journey.
General Teaching Assistant | Job Summary
- Location: Mainstream Primary School in Wandsworth.
- Contract: Full-time to term-time, Immediate start until July 2025
- Salary: £480 per week, pro rata on a PAYE basis
- Role: Working closely with the teacher to support the learning and development of students in the classroom
Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting the teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering lessons.
- Supporting students with their learning, including providing 1:1 or small group support.
- Helping students with tasks and activities, ensuring they remain engaged and motivated.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Assisting with classroom management, ensuring students are on task and following instructions.
- Observing and recording students progress, providing feedback where necessary.
- Supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) or additional needs where required.
What Were Looking For:
- Enthusiastic and proactive approach to working with children.
- A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to take initiative.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team, supporting both the teacher and the wider school staff.
- Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
