Long Term Futures is currently partnering with a Southwark-based Primary School, which is looking for bright and confident graduates to embark on their journey in teaching. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in the educational development and well-being of young students. For the right candidate, there is potential for the role to become permanent.
Main Duties will entail:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to children with SEN and complex needs, including ASD, ADHD, and behavioural difficulties.
- Participate and assist in lesson delivery and provide individualised support to children with special educational needs.
- Collaborate with an experienced inclusion team to ensure ongoing development and participation of children who may struggle in mainstream class environments.
- Keeping detailed records of pupils' progress and regularly updating the class teacher on their development.
Applicant Specification:
- Hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification. (Ideally Psychology)
- Passion for education and making a difference in young children's academic performance.
- Ability to effectively communicate with parents, staff members and other school personnel.
- Experience working with primary school children is advantageous.
- Capable of building strong relationships with children and becoming a trusted figure in the classroom.
