We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive and nurturing school community in Southwark, London. This full-time role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Key Details:Graduate Teaching Assistant

  • Start Date: September 2025
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Contract: Fixed term for one academic year

Responsibilities:Graduate Teaching Assistant

  • Provide one-to-one support for children with SEND, including autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy
  • Assist in the implementation of individual learning plans and behaviour strategies
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support the development of communication, social, and life skills
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure each child achieves their potential
  • Monitor and record student progress

Requirements/Desirable:Graduate Teaching Assistant

  • A degree (or equivalent qualification)
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, including autism, Down syndrome, or cerebral palsy
  • A compassionate and patient approach to working with children with diverse learning needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive attitude and a genuine passion for supporting children in development

Desirable:Graduate Teaching Assistant

  • Knowledge of assistive communication methods (e.g., Makaton, PECS)
  • Understanding of sensory integration strategies
