The Role:
Academics is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to cover teachers' PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) time across all year groups, from Early Years to Year 6. This is a part-time role, working three days a week (Monday to Wednesday).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of class teachers, ensuring smooth and effective learning.
  • Work with children across the primary age range, adapting to their needs and abilities.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with class teachers to maintain consistency and progression in pupils' learning.
  • Manage the classroom effectively to promote good behavior and engagement.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • A positive attitude and a commitment to supporting children's learning and development.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build good relationships with pupils and colleagues.
  • Confidence and flexibility to work across all year groups.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to follow lesson plans.

Desirable:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience working in a primary school setting.
  • Knowledge of the primary curriculum and classroom management strategies.
