The Role:
Academics is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to cover teachers' PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) time across all year groups, from Early Years to Year 6. This is a part-time role, working three days a week (Monday to Wednesday).
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of class teachers, ensuring smooth and effective learning.
- Work with children across the primary age range, adapting to their needs and abilities.
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with class teachers to maintain consistency and progression in pupils' learning.
- Manage the classroom effectively to promote good behavior and engagement.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- A positive attitude and a commitment to supporting children's learning and development.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build good relationships with pupils and colleagues.
- Confidence and flexibility to work across all year groups.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to follow lesson plans.
Desirable:
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience working in a primary school setting.
- Knowledge of the primary curriculum and classroom management strategies.
