This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced educator to contribute to the academic development of students and inspire them in subjects within the humanities field. As a Humanities Lecturer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality lessons that foster intellectual curiosity and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:- Lesson Planning & Delivery: Design, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons across a range of humanities subjects, including history, geography, sociology, philosophy, and others.
- Assessment & Feedback: Create and administer assessments to track student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to ensure student growth and understanding.
- Student Support: Offer individual and group support to students, helping them address academic challenges and reach their full potential.
- Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development of the humanities curriculum, ensuring it remains current and relevant to students' educational needs.
- Classroom Management: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation, discussion, and critical thinking.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and monitor student progress, ensuring timely interventions are made to help struggling students stay on track.
- A degree in Humanities, History, Sociology, Geography, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- A relevant teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- Proven experience teaching humanities subjects at the Further Education level or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of humanities concepts, methodologies, and contemporary issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- A commitment to delivering an inclusive and supportive learning experience.
- Experience teaching a wide range of humanities subjects to students of varying abilities.
- Ability to integrate real-world examples and case studies into lessons to enhance student learning.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- A proactive, student-centred approach, focused on encouraging academic achievement and personal development.
- Familiarity with current trends in the humanities field and the ability to incorporate these into the curriculum.
