Primary School Teaching Assistant

This vibrant, inclusive school in the heart of Lambeth is dedicated to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners. We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Primary School Teaching Assistant to support teachers and students.
The ideal candidate will assist in delivering high-quality educational experiences, creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment, and fostering the academic and social development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of students.
- Support individual students or small groups to enhance their learning experience.
- Help create and maintain a safe, organised, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, playground time, and field trips.
- Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
- Provide support for students with special educational needs and help implement individualized education plans (IEPs). -
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the classroom teacher.
- Encourage positive behavior and promote the school’s values and ethos.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members.
- Perform administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher in education or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
- Basic understanding of child development and educational practices.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.
