We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Lecturer in Computing to join our team at a modern, state-of-the-art campus in East London. This leading university operates in a dynamic, multicultural environment, with multiple intakes per year and continuous cycles of learning, teaching, and recruitment. Serving approximately 4,000 non-residential students, offering a wide range of programmes including Certificates of Higher Education, Honours degrees, Masters, and Doctoral studies, with some courses also available on weekends to meet diverse student needs.

About the Role

As a Lecturer, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging and impactful teaching across multiple levels, from Certificate (Level 4) up to Master's (Level 7). You will be responsible for delivering a range of modules, including Networking, Cybersecurity and Ethical Hacking, Enterprise Network Security and Digital Forensics.

With three intakes per year (October, February, and June), you will teach a diverse cohort of mature students, many of whom are from inner-city communities. This role requires a compassionate and patient individual who is passionate about supporting student development and widening participation.

As the Computing lecturer, you will be required to:

  • Deliver 16-18 hours of onsite teaching per week across 4 modules (4 hours each), using a variety of engaging teaching methods.
  • Provide academic and pastoral support to students, enhancing their learning experience.
  • Support other academic functions, including admissions, marking, assessments, and module leadership.
  • Work closely with colleagues to promote student success and engagement.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Experience in teaching, delivery, assessment and student support at undergraduate and postgraduate level in Networking, Cybersecurity and Ethical Hacking, Enterprise Network Security and Digital Forensics.
  • A passion for working with diverse student groups and the ability to adapt your teaching style to meet varying needs.
