Job Role: Politics Teacher
Location: Hackney
Salary: £170 - £250 per day
Start Date: 22nd April 2025
Contract: Long Term until July 2025, Part Time (3 days a week – Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday)
GSL Education London Branch is looking for a Politics Teacher to join a coeducational secondary school and sixth form in Hackney. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and passionate Politics Teacher to inspire students and support their academic progress. Politics Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Politics lessons up to Key Stage 4.
- Create a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages debate and critical thinking.
- Prepare students for assessments and examinations with effective teaching strategies.
- Foster students’ understanding of political systems, ideologies, and current affairs.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Promote a love for politics and civic engagement among students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Humanities department and share best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attainment.
- Follow the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies.
Politics Teacher Requirements:
- Must hold UK QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- At least 2-3 years of UK-based teaching experience in secondary schools.
- Strong knowledge of the Politics curriculum up to KS4.
- Ability to inspire and challenge students to achieve their best.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- A passion for Politics and current affairs.
- A valid DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
