GSL Education London Branch is looking for a Politics Teacher to join a coeducational secondary school and sixth form in Hackney. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and passionate Politics Teacher to inspire students and support their academic progress. Politics Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Politics lessons up to Key Stage 4.
  • Create a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages debate and critical thinking.
  • Prepare students for assessments and examinations with effective teaching strategies.
  • Foster students’ understanding of political systems, ideologies, and current affairs.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Promote a love for politics and civic engagement among students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Humanities department and share best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attainment.
  • Follow the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies.

Politics Teacher Requirements:

  • Must hold UK QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • At least 2-3 years of UK-based teaching experience in secondary schools.
  • Strong knowledge of the Politics curriculum up to KS4.
  • Ability to inspire and challenge students to achieve their best.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • A passion for Politics and current affairs.
  • A valid DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
