Social Worker - Children's Assessments Team, Camden

Salary: Up to 50,706 per annum + Zone 1 & 2 travel allowance (1,628) + Social Work England fee reimbursement

Role Responsibilities:

  • Undertake in-depth assessments of children and their families, ensuring a clear understanding of their needs.

  • Complete Initial and Core Assessments, ensuring compliance with statutory timeframes.

  • Analyse complex information to identify risks and formulate appropriate care plans.

  • Collaborate with multi-agency partners, including education, health, and police services.

  • Develop and implement child in need or child protection plans, ensuring regular reviews.

  • Provide clear, evidence-based recommendations for intervention or support.

  • Prepare high-quality reports for case conferences and court proceedings.

  • Ensure families are fully involved in the assessment process and decision-making.

About You:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a degree, diploma, or equivalent in Social Work.

  • At least 2 years of post-qualifying experience in children's services, particularly assessments.

  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and Working Together to Safeguard Children guidance.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate risk and prioritise effectively.

  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and professionals.

  • Registered with Social Work England.
