About the Role
The Children in Care Team is committed to achieving the best outcomes for children and young people who are looked after. As a Social Worker in the CIC Team, your duties will include:
- Managing a caseload of children in care, ensuring their welfare and development are prioritised.
- Undertaking statutory visits and assessments to ensure that children are safe, supported, and thriving in their placements.
- Developing care plans and pathway plans, working collaboratively with children, families, and partner agencies.
- Supporting children through care proceedings and permanency planning, including Special Guardianship Orders and Adoption.
- Preparing and presenting reports for court and attending legal proceedings as required.
- Advocating for children and young people to ensure their voices are heard and their needs are met.
- Working closely with foster carers, residential providers, and schools to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Participating in regular supervision and team meetings to support reflective practice and professional growth.

About You
We are looking for:
- Qualified Social Workers registered with Social Work England.
- Experience in statutory social work, particularly with children in care.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989.
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
- A passion for achieving the best outcomes for children and young people.
