About the Role

The Children in Care Team is committed to achieving the best outcomes for children and young people who are looked after. As a Social Worker in the CIC Team, your duties will include:

  • Managing a caseload of children in care, ensuring their welfare and development are prioritised.
  • Undertaking statutory visits and assessments to ensure that children are safe, supported, and thriving in their placements.
  • Developing care plans and pathway plans, working collaboratively with children, families, and partner agencies.
  • Supporting children through care proceedings and permanency planning, including Special Guardianship Orders and Adoption.
  • Preparing and presenting reports for court and attending legal proceedings as required.
  • Advocating for children and young people to ensure their voices are heard and their needs are met.
  • Working closely with foster carers, residential providers, and schools to ensure a holistic approach to care.
  • Participating in regular supervision and team meetings to support reflective practice and professional growth.
