Are you a First Class Science Graduate, interested in becoming a specialised Science Academic Mentor? We are looking to speak with Science Academic Mentors looking to get into education, or to get some class-based experience before beginning their Teacher Training, or who want to use their specialist subject knowledge. If you're a talented Science Graduate and STEM specialist, then this role will be for you!

I am looking to speak with anyone who is an aspiring Teacher as a Science Academic Mentor, and who has ambitions to go into the education field and gain invaluable experience before beginning Teacher Training, or before endeavouring into a future career.

Science Academic Mentor | About the role:

  • A Science Academic Mentor is a term-time-only role!
  • Work Monday-Friday, 8:30 am- 4 pm as a Science academic Mentor.
  • Get paid up to £105 a day (inclusive of holiday pay) | Paid weekly via PAYE
  • Large Secondary School in Barnet. A Science Academic Mentor will assist students from Year 7 just starting secondary school, up to Year 13 students applying to top universities.
  • A Science Academic Mentor will work alongside a fantastic team of Teachers and Support Staff to deliver a fantastic standard of education for the students.
  • Support students in a classroom setting, in 1:1 meetings, or small group interventions.
  • Work with high achieving students as well as students who aren't quite hitting their targets, providing the same level of care and attention to their work.
Science Academic Mentor | About you:

  • We are looking for a Science Academic Mentor with a good Science Degree from a Top 25 UK University
  • Has an interest in enrolling in a Teacher Training Programme, a PGCE, or working with children in the future.
  • Can teach engaging lessons to students up to KS5
  • If a Science Academic Mentor has tutoring experience, it would be advantageous
  • Is passionate about teaching students from a range of backgrounds in a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Looking for an enthusiastic, creative and adaptable Science Academic Mentor who wants to work in a collaborative team across a large campus in Barnet.
