- Science Technician to lead practical and technical aspects of science curriculum
- Preparing, maintaining, organising and managing the resources required for healthy, safe and secure practical activities
- As a Science Technician you will report to the Lead Practitioner and HoD
- Provide technical support to Science Department
- Work closely with AP/ Heads of Department and attend departmental meetings
- Manage the provision of technical support for learning activities
- Advise technician team on departmental matters and needs for additional support in consultation with the team leader, where appropriate
- Work with pupils in the delivery/ demonstration of practical learning activities
- Preparation and maintenance of teaching areas and equipment for pupils
- Monitor stock levels of consumables, e.g. petri dishes, syringes, pipettes, safety equipment etc
- Receive chemicals, equipment and biological materials and to ensure all recorded items have been delivered in good condition as per the delivery note
- Ensure all materials are stored neatly and in an organised and safe way to prevent damage
- Maintain records of health and safety checks, risk assessments, instruction manuals, data sheets, service and repair records etc.
- To ensure that records of breakages and deterioration/damage to any equipment, chemicals or resources are maintained.
- To maintain a register of all incidents involving safety or damage and an asset register of all equipment.
