Experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant - Secondary School, Greenwich
An excellent secondary, mainstream school in Greenwich is looking to welcome a SEMH Teaching Assistant to work on a one-to-one basis with one of their students. We look for a professional with experience supporting studnts with Social, Emotional, Mental Health within a school setting.
Key Responsibilities of our SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1-1 tailored support to a student with SEMH needs
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to create a positive learning environment
- Support the student both academically and emotionally, helping them achieve their potential
- Engage with the student in a variety of settings, ensuring they receive the necessary support
- Be patient, with a kind and caring approach to student learning
- Have good behaviour management abilities
Requirements:
- Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs in a mainstream, SEN, or similar educational setting
- Strong communication skills, patience, and empathy.
- Ability to build positive relationships and foster a supportive atmosphere
- Experience working with a variety of professionals, including SENCOs and external agencies
