Experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant - Secondary School, Greenwich

An excellent secondary, mainstream school in Greenwich is looking to welcome a SEMH Teaching Assistant to work on a one-to-one basis with one of their students. We look for a professional with experience supporting studnts with Social, Emotional, Mental Health within a school setting.

Key Responsibilities of our SEMH Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide 1-1 tailored support to a student with SEMH needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to create a positive learning environment
  • Support the student both academically and emotionally, helping them achieve their potential
  • Engage with the student in a variety of settings, ensuring they receive the necessary support
  • Be patient, with a kind and caring approach to student learning
  • Have good behaviour management abilities

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs in a mainstream, SEN, or similar educational setting
  • Strong communication skills, patience, and empathy.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and foster a supportive atmosphere
  • Experience working with a variety of professionals, including SENCOs and external agencies
