About the Role

Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive secondary school in Hackney, N4. The school provides a nurturing and structured learning environment, ensuring every student is supported to reach their potential. You will work closely with the pastoral team, offering one-on-one tutoring and small group instruction, while implementing behaviour management strategies to promote emotional regulation and engagement in learning.

Key Responsibilities

Provide individualised support to students with SEMH needs, fostering resilience and confidence.
Deliver small group instruction focusing on emotional regulation and social development.
Assist teachers with lesson planning, adapting materials for accessibility.
Implement behaviour management strategies to encourage positive learning habits.
Support progress monitoring, tracking student development and providing feedback.

Experience supporting students with SEMH in a secondary school or similar setting.
Strong understanding of behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
A proactive approach to lesson planning and adapting support strategies.
A compassionate, patient, and resilient attitude.
