Location: Hackney, N4
Day Rate: 90-110 per day
Contract: Long-term to permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

About the Role

Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive secondary school in Hackney, N4. The school provides a nurturing and structured learning environment, ensuring every student is supported to reach their potential. You will work closely with the pastoral team, offering one-on-one tutoring and small group instruction, while implementing behaviour management strategies to promote emotional regulation and engagement in learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualised support to students with SEMH needs, fostering resilience and confidence.
  • Deliver small group instruction focusing on emotional regulation and social development.
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning, adapting materials for accessibility.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to encourage positive learning habits.
  • Support progress monitoring, tracking student development and providing feedback.

  • Experience supporting students with SEMH in a secondary school or similar setting.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
  • A proactive approach to lesson planning and adapting support strategies.
