Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Bexley, Croydon, Lewisham, Greenwich, Lambeth, Bromley, Southwark
Salary: £90 to £110 per day (dependent on experience)

GSL Education is seeking dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants across Bexley, Croydon, Lewisham, Greenwich, Lambeth, Bromley, and Southwark to work in special schools. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Previous experience in an SEND or SEMH setting is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with SEND, including those with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of personalised learning and behaviour management strategies.
  • Work alongside teachers and other staff to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Support students with their emotional, social, and academic development, encouraging independence and confidence.
  • Assist with daily activities, ensuring students feel supported and engaged.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students in an SEND or SEMH setting is highly preferable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage challenging behaviour.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with vulnerable students.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to the individual needs of students.
