About the Role:
Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have a sporting background and experience working with young people in KS3 and KS4? The school is looking for a proactive and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students in a mainstream environment. You will work closely with teaching staff to ensure students with SEN have the tailored support they need to thrive in their learning and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN, ensuring they engage effectively with the curriculum
- Use your sporting background to inspire and motivate students, promoting physical activity and teamwork
- Collaborate with teachers to adapt lessons and resources to meet individual student needs
- Assist with behaviour management strategies, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents
- Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events, supporting the broader school community

What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with SEN students in a secondary school or similar setting
- A sporting background with the ability to motivate and engage students through physical activity
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with additional needs, and strategies to support them
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- A proactive, adaptable, and compassionate approach to working with young people
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices and behaviour management strategies
Additional Details:
- Full-time role, Monday to Friday
- Paid 95 - 105 per day, term time only
- Based in Hackney, London
- Start date: January 2025, with potential for long-term placement
