The School and Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a SEND Teaching assistant in Tower Hamlets, a short 5 minute walk from Mile End station.

The role would predominantly involve supporting pupils aged 11 – 17, but the successful candidate will be able to develop their expertise through working across the service as needed as part of our skilled, multi-disciplinary team.

The secondary special school in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets for students aged 11 to 19 with severe and profound and multiple learning difficulties. A significant proportion of the learners have additional sensory and physical impairments.

The school where individuals are valued and all staff and students are expected to give their best.  Staff at the school are committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all students so they can learn and achieve in a supportive and secure atmosphere.

The desired SEND Teaching Assistant will:

  • Have a passion to teach outside of a mainstream environment, and a commitment to experience the unique opportunities of a special school
  • Have a kind, caring, and compassionate nature which is used to plan and deliver inclusive, fun, and inspiring lessons
  • Comfortable with personal care
  • Child and Adult DBS
