Teacher of Social Sciences

The Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Social Sciences to join our thriving department. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across KS3 to KS5, inspiring students to think critically about the world around them. You will have the opportunity to teach a range of subjects, including but not limited to Sociology, Psychology, and Citizenship. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to help shape the future of our students by promoting a deep understanding of social structures, behaviors, and issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students across various Social Sciences subjects
  • Foster a classroom environment that promotes inquiry, collaboration, and independent thinking
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development
  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work and curriculum planning
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and school events
  • Support and mentor students, promoting their academic and personal growth

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A degree in Social Sciences or a related subject
  • Experience teaching Social Sciences at KS3, KS4, and ideally KS5
  • A passion for the subject and a desire to inspire young minds
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of all abilities
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
