Uniform Education arelooking for a TA to join aDeaf unit in this ofsted GOOD mainstream primary from September.
The school have a Deaf Unit for 30 pupils attached to a mainstream school.
They are looking for someone to work with the deaf children as a shared TA on a 1:2/ 1:3 basis in the EYFS (Nursery or Reception). The candidate will need to be a good non verbal communicator (use of BSL / Makaton / Gesture) and good oral communicator to model language for the pupils. They must also be comfortable supporting children who become frustrated due to a lack of language and so may display behaviour such as biting, running, hitting or crying. Children may also have ADHD / ASD tendancies and may require support during further assessment
