SEN Teaching Assistant Needed for Primary School - Haringey Borough, North London

A welcoming primary school in Haringey, North London, is seeking a patient and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to a Year 1 pupil with autism, who has an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP). The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will have previous experience working with children on the autism spectrum, using strategies to help them achieve academic and personal development goals.

Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

Delivering one-on-one support and ensuring a safe, structured environment tailored to the child's needs.
Assisting in sensory regulation activities to support the student's focus and engagement in class tasks.
Working alongside the classroom teacher to adapt materials and activities, making them accessible and manageable for the student.
Implementing behaviour management techniques to promote positive learning experiences.
Communicating closely with staff and parents to track progress and meet individual goals.
