Teaching Assistant
About Us: We are a vibrant primary school located in Woolwich, Greenwich, dedicated to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for our students. We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join our team.
Role Overview: As a Year 1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the class teacher and working one-to-one with a named child. You will work closely with children to assist in their learning, manage classroom activities, and provide individual support where needed. The named child has not been diagnosed with any special needs; however, the child is very easily distracted and needs a one-to-one teaching assistant to give him extra support. This role is a full-time role, Monday to Friday from 8:30am-3:30pm. We're looking to hire a teaching assistant on a long-term basis, as soon as possible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one to support for a named child in Year 1
- Support the teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
- Assist with classroom management and encourage positive behaviour.
- Help to prepare teaching materials and resources.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to the teacher.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- A passion for working with children and helping them achieve their potential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
