Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our educators in providing an inclusive and effective learning environment for all students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and a strong commitment to helping children succeed, particularly those with special educational needs. This role is essential in fostering a positive atmosphere where every child can thrive.

Duties

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities tailored to the needs of students.
  • Provide one-on-one tutoring and mentoring to students, ensuring they understand the material and can apply it effectively.
  • Support children with special educational needs, including those on the autism spectrum, by implementing individualised learning plans.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to promote a collaborative learning environment.
  • Help maintain a safe and organised classroom, preparing materials and resources as needed.
  • Monitor student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to teachers on individual student needs.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to teaching and mentoring.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children, particularly in an educational setting, is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with special education practices and strategies for supporting children with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with students of varying ages and backgrounds.
  • A patient and nurturing attitude towards teaching, with a genuine desire to educate and inspire young learners.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative when required.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in education or child development would be advantageous but are not mandatory.
