Teaching Assistant

A Haringey primary school is looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team after February half term. This full-time role involves providing 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil with Autism, requiring patience, experience, and strong behaviour management skills.

• Support a Year 1 pupil with Autism, helping them access the curriculum.
• Implement strategies to manage behaviour and promote emotional regulation.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and SEN staff.
• Use visual supports, sensory techniques, and structured routines.
• Encourage independence and social interaction in a safe environment.

• Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, ideally with Autism support.
• Strong behaviour management skills and a calm approach.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the child's needs.
• A valid Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for one.
