Reeson Education are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work in a lovely little SEN School situated in West London this will be working with children that have Autism. There are approximately 7/8 students within the class.
This is a full time, long term role starting immediately. I am looking for someone who has had previous experience either on a professional or personal level with Autism. As a Teaching Assistant within this school you will be working with PECS (Picture Exchange Communications) and Makaton, working with challenging behaviour, supporting with reading and writing, monitoring progression, amongst other general TA duties.
What does Autism mean?
Autism which is often abbreviated to ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) could mean that individuals may have trouble with the following: Anxiety, communication, social interaction, repetitive and restrictive behaviour, varied sensitivity to certain senses such as; light, sound, taste and touch. Children with Autism may rely on different ways to communicate this maybe through PECS and Makaton.
