Are you a flexible and experienced Teaching Assistant looking for ad-hoc supply work in a supportive and inclusive environment?
GSL Education are currently looking for Teaching Assistants to support pupils at a wonderful SEN school in Southgate, Enfield. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fantastic team where you will provide 1:1 support to SEN students and help within the general classroom. The role is ad-hoc and flexible, meaning you can choose when to work, either on a full-time or part-time basis.
This role will allow you to make a positive impact on students' learning while providing valuable support to the teaching staff. If you're passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs and enjoy working in a collaborative setting, this could be the perfect role for you.
What you have to do as a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):
- Provide 1:1 support to SEN students within the classroom.
- Assist with general classroom support to maintain an inclusive environment for all students.
- Help teachers with classroom management and ensure that students stay focused and engaged.
- Support students in small group work as directed by the teacher.
- Assist with students' social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
- Aid in the preparation of learning resources and materials to assist SEN pupils.
- Provide assistance with personal care and help students with physical needs, as required.
- Support the monitoring and assessment of students' progress.
- Be adaptable to support in various classroom settings and with different year groups.
What we need from a Teaching Assistant (TA):
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant is essential.
- Experience in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff.
- A degree in Psychology, counselling, education or a similar field.
- Strong understanding of SEN and the ability to provide individualised support.
- A proactive and flexible approach to your work.
- An Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service, or the willingness to apply for one.
