Are you a compassionate Teaching Assistant looking to support a Year 6 pupil with behaviour and transition needs?

About the Role

Long Term Futures is seeking a Behaviour Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to a Year 6 pupil who has recently moved to the UK and speaks Portuguese as their first language. This role involves one-on-one tutoring to develop English skills, small group instruction to support social integration, and behaviour management strategies to aid emotional regulation.

Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and pastoral team, you will assist with lesson planning and progress monitoring to ensure the pupil's academic and emotional development. The role includes some out-of-class support to help with confidence building and transition into school life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one tutoring to support language acquisition and engagement.
  • Deliver small group instruction to develop social and academic skills.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to encourage positive learning.
  • Assist with lesson planning and adapt resources for the pupil's needs.
  • Conduct progress monitoring to track and report on development.
